The 2009 CNPN Symposium Registration
Information on registration
Welcome to HUPO VIII World Congress (2009) and the 2009 CNPN Symposium to be held on Friday, September 25th, 2009. This 2009 CNPN Symposium is sponsored by the Canadian National Proteomic Network (CNPN). It will be co-chaired by Professor Juergen Kast and Professor John Marshall. This symposium is expecting 300 attendees.
Please note that CNPN is hosting its 2009 Symposium in conjunction with the HUPO 2009 World Congress. You may register for the HUPO 2009 Congress and the 2009 CNPN Symposium as a member of CNPN; you will receive a reduced registration fee as a member of CNPN. This registration will permit the attendance of both the HUPO Congress (September 28th-30th, 2009) and the CNPN Symposium (September 25th, 2009). If you wish to participate in the HUPO2009 pre-congress programs (e.g., HUPO Clinical Day and Education Day; September 26th-27th, 2009), please register for these programs separately.
If you wish to participate as a member in the HUPO organization and to attend the HUPO Membership General Assembly for HUPO council election, please join HUPO as a HUPO member. HUPO membership benefits and membership registration can be found at HUPO website (www.hupo.org).
The 2009 CNPN Symposium is titled "Developing and Unifying Under a Canadian National Proteomics Program". It features technology innovations and proteomic science developments taken place in the proteomic community of Canada. Only registered participants are entitled to attend the scientific sessions of the symposium.
An official receipt/confirmation of registrations will be issued to all registrants upon receipt of the payment. Please bring this confirmation with you to the congress.

** For student registrations, an email from your mentor or the head of department is required including name of the student, the name of the departmnet head/mentor, affiliation, and registration number, must be submitted to registration@hupo2009.org within 48 hours of the registration.
The symposium registration fee for participants and students includes:
- Access to the Scientific Sessions
- Access to the CNPN Symposium Banquet at preferred rate ($50 USD)
- Symposium Package (Symposium Bag, Badge, Program Book, Abstract Book etc)
The registration fee for accompanying persons includes:
- Access to the CNPN Symposium Banquet at preferred rate ($50 USD)
Method of payment
Payment of fees in US Dollars ($) must accompany all registration forms. No registration will be confirmed until payment is received. Payment can be made by the following methods:
- Credit Cards: VISA or MasterCard.
Alternative Method of payment
For Canadian residents attending CNPN Symposium, payment of fees in Canadian Dollars ($) may be accepted as a money order to CNPN. Please contact Dr. John Marshall at 4marshal@ryerson.ca for details. Dr. John Marshall is the treasurer of CNPN.
Important notes:
1. Registrations not followed by appropriate payment as outlined above will not be honored until full payment is received.
2. Only the forms of payment listed above are acceptable. Company and personal checks are not accepted.
3. Currency exchange charges or bank collection fees or credit card fees are the responsibility of the registrant.
4. No postal mail of any payments is acceptable. The Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any loss.
5. For administrative and preparatory reasons, all registrations on and after August 29th 2009 will NOT be included in the main program book.
Insurance and liability
In registering for the CNPN Symposium 2009, you agree that neither the Organizing Committee nor CNPN accept any liability. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements in respect of health and travel insurance.
Confirmation of registration for participants
When your online registration form plus payment are received by the CNPN Symposium Organizing Committee, you will receive a written confirmation of your registration by e-mail. Registrations received after August 29th 2009 may not be confirmed in writing. This does not mean that you are not registered. Consequently, please bring the copy of the registration form that you keep for your own files, as well as the proof of payment of your registration fee with you when you travel to the Conference.
Name changes
If you cannot attend but did register, you will be given the opportunity to send a colleague in your place. Name changes have a surcharge of $100 (USD) per name change. Name changes requested after August 29th 2009 may be considered as onsite processing and may not be confirmed in writing.
Cancellation and refund policy
No cancellation or refund will be issued after registration. Please consider the name change option above to recover the cost of your registration.
