Information on registration
Welcome to HUPO VIII World Congress (2009). You are invited to register this HUPO Congress for a reduced fee as a HUPO member (please join HUPO at www.HUPO.org). You may also register this HUPO Congress as a non HUPO member.
You are kindly requested to register for the Congress as early as possible since some social functions may be restricted to a limited number of participants. Registrations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Only registered participants are entitled to attend the scientific sessions of the congress. Only registered participants and registered accompanying persons will be admitted to the social evening functions.
An official receipt/confirmation of registrations will be issued to all registrants upon receipt of the payment. Please bring this confirmation with you to the congress.

** For student registrations, an email from your mentor or the head of department is required including name of the student, the name of the departmnet head/mentor, affiliation, and registration number, must be submitted to registration@hupo2009.org within 48 hours of the registration.
The congress registration fee for participants and students includes:
- Welcome reception
- Access to the Scientific Sessions (September 28th to 30th)
- Access to the HUPO Initiative Workshops on Saturday, September 26th
- Access to the Exhibition Hall
- Access to the HUPO Congress Banquet at preferred rate ($75 USD)
- Congress Package (Congress Bag, Badge, Program Book, Abstract Book etc)
The pre-Congress registration fee for participants and students includes:
- Access to the Education Day Program or Clinical Day Program
The registration fee for accompanying persons includes:
- Welcome reception
- Access to the HUPO Congress Banquet at preferred rate ($75 USD)
Method of payment
Payment of fees in US Dollars ($) must accompany all registration forms. No registration will be confirmed until payment is received. Payment can be made by the following methods:
- Credit Cards: VISA or MasterCard.
Important notes:
1. Registrations not followed by appropriate payment as outlined above will not be honored until full payment is received.
2. Only the forms of payment listed above are acceptable. Company and personal checks are not accepted.
3. Currency exchange charges or bank collection fees or credit card fees are the responsibility of the registrant.
4. No postal mail of any payments is acceptable. The Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any loss.
5. For administrative and preparatory reasons, all registrations on and after August 29th 2009 will NOT be included in the main program book.
Insurance and liability
In registering for the HUPO VIII World Congress, HUPO 2009, you agree that neither the Organizing Committee nor HUPO accept any liability. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements in respect of health and travel insurance.
Confirmation of registration for participants
When your online registration form plus payment are received by the Congress Organizing Committee, you will receive a written confirmation of your registration by e-mail. Registrations received after August 29th 2009 may not be confirmed in writing. This does not mean that you are not registered. Consequently, please bring the copy of the registration form that you keep for your own files, as well as the proof of payment of your registration fee with you when you travel to the Congress.
Name changes
If you cannot attend but did register, you will be given the opportunity to send a colleague in your place. Name changes have a surcharge of $100 (USD) per name change. Name changes requested after August 29th 2009 may be considered as onsite processing and may not be confirmed in writing.
Cancellation and refund policy
No cancellation or refund will be issued after registration. Please consider the name change option above to recover the cost of your registration.
